I had a friend that got Suboxone Strips because she use to take painkillers. She also has Fibromyalgia. She had me try one. I was so amazed that is cut my Fibromyalgia in half if not more. I am now waiting for my doctor to put me on these strips. Has anyone else tried these strips before for their Fibromyalgia?
What dose were you prescribed? I was on 8/12 and I noticed that i could rip a small corner off the strip and still got complete relief of my pain.
In my case I found my doctor always trying to give me higher doses even when it obviously wasn’t needed.
I would test smaller doses if I were you, see what you can get relief from because theres no need to take a larger amount if it’s not necessary...
Wow thanks for sharing. I understand what you are saying but it does different things to different people. I guess the way we could look at it as damned if you do damned if you don’t. I’m not recommending it for anyone I’m just letting people know I can live my life normal with this medication. I guess it’s different for each individual. Prolly wouldn’t recommend for younger folk. If they ever come out with something in the future specially for fibromyalgia I will attempt it but until then I will stay with this. Thank you all for your messages. Live pain free with love my friends!!
And I also found out that Suboxone is not a long term medication.. the intention of Suboxone is medication assisted treatment and is only supposed to be administered or prescribed for a 4 week period while gradually decreasing the dose each day. If taken for longer periods of time your put at a high risk for opioid induced IBS that results in violent stomach cramps and diarrhea that can last 3 to 6 months... sometimes longer for some people.
The worst part about the whole situation is that I’m almost positive that my pain is more intense then before taking this medication...They only way I can describe it as, is all my threshold and tolerance for pain has been magically erased... Along with all of my coping skills. As if I were a person experiencing pain for the first time in the worst way possible.
And I actually have a family member that’s a recovered addict that reaches out to active addicts through out communities to encourage and help people get into treatment programs and he had actually told me that he helped someone that used heroin for 10 years get into a program... that person got put on Medication assistant treatment with Suboxone for 4 months and said that the withdrawals were much worse than heroin withdrawal..
that was extremely scary for me to hear so that’s when I decided to do further research on it and decided against this doctors “pain treatment”
Never heard of please keep us posted
I had a doctor put me on them when the opiate laws changed last year... it was the best thing I ever had taken to manage my pain. Unfortunately because it’s a synthetic opiate you can still become dependent on it... I deciding I didn’t want to take it anymore and was recommended to wean myself off over the period of a month.
It’s been a little over a month since my last dose and I’m still having withdrawal symptoms.
I don’t know what’s worse the withdrawals or my flare ups. I wouldn’t wish this on my worst enemy.
Also I just recently found out Suboxone is never supposed to be prescribed for pain treatment!
