I have had back problems for 6 years now and I have recently had a flare which seemed to make my back pain worse however when I spoke to my doctor about it she said that fibromyalgia doesn't usually affect your back. i would like to know whether I was just more sensitive to pain buring my flare or my back pain is from my fibromyalgia.

I disagree with your doctor also. When I was diagnosed some of the pressure points he tested were in my back. Fibromyalgia is all over your body. Find another doctor that understands the disease.
Your Doctor is definitely wrong I have back pain all the time it stays with me 24/7 also have anklosing spondylitis as well like @A MyFibroTeam Member I would definitely see another Doctor that hopefully has some understanding of Fibromyalgia.

Your doctor is crazy wrong! It started in my back and hips, then my legs, now in my shoulders and arms and hands. It affects my tummy too, and can affect female organs too. Pretty much anything with nerves can be affected by fibromyalgia, as I've been researching.
Widespread pain and tenderness in soft tissue can affect any and every area in our body. Now that I’m older they have found osteoarthritis in my back etc.
Also we can have pain in the muscles, spasms...back etc🤗🤗🤗
Regarding back pain with FM being real. Your doc is nuts! FM people suffer a great deal of back pain. Mine is between my shoulders blades on each side and in my low back and hips. Also up on my shoulders.
Time to find a new doc I say.
