I've been having fibromyalgia symptoms for a few years, only been to two doctors but they say I'm healthy because my blood tests and other exams are normal. My mother was diagnosed with fibromyalgia in 2011, but it took her 5 years and a lot of doctors.

I would like to know how was your journey and how long it took to be diagnosed.

Members shared the often frustrating journey to receiving a fibromyalgia diagnosis, with timelines ranging from one year to an astonishing 25 years, highlighting how normal blood tests and scans frequently delayed answers despite debilitating symptoms. Several members emphasized the critical importance of self-advocacy, persistence in seeking multiple medical opinions, and specifically requesting referrals to rheumatologists or pain specialists who are more familiar with fibromyalgia. A recurring theme was the bittersweet relief of finally having a diagnosis after years of being told nothing was wrong, even though many found the label itself frustrating since it often led only to pain management rather than concrete solutions.

To be honest the diagnosis to me is frustrating because they just acknowledging you have chronic pain .. no answers, just pain meds that dont work .

💜Hi Ana , my diagnosis took a year, during that year I was at my doctors at least once a week, begging for answers, I had scans, and blood tests, and following these coming back clear, she suggested I may have fibro, I was referred to a rheumatologist, who diagnosed me..🦋..it's never nice to be diagnosed with anything, but at least it was good to have the answer..🌹..maybe you could ask your doctor to be referred to a rheumatologist💜

@A MyFibroTeam Member, there is CBD oil with THC made from marijuana, you have to buy at a dispensary either with you medical marijuana card or states that marijuana is legal. All the mail order CBD oil is from hemp.
