I as a type A intense personality. I have found guided meditations from Youtube to be very helpful in relaxing me. Granted, you can't do them when you are out and about but I do them twice a day and they do help my body relax. Try deep breathing and doing 3 positive affirmations and do them slowly.

ABSOLUTELY; nail on the head,,, if i lay very still and focus on my muscles and my tense thoughts i can control it .... minimually,, but i know its my mind,, i suffered a great deal of loss for 2 solid years ,, my dog had to be put down then 3 months later my mother ,,, 3 months later my husband ,, 1 1/2 years later my father,, and i believe the PTSD from these events even now has me in knots ,, i have to mentally stop thinking stressful thoughts and really focus on relaxing ,, when i can do this i can actually feel the tension leaving ,, the second i start to think of something stressful ,, even as small as "oh i have to run to the store to get x" then boom ,, all knotted again,,
