Zantac just got recalled in the United States and Canada for having cancer causing ingredient. That cancer causing ingredient is also found in cured and smoked meats and tobacco smoke in lower levels than in Zantac tablets. The article includes says that no direct cancers have been linked to zantac but zantac increases the probability of cancers.

Additionally, that cancer related ingredient builds up in our bodies and never degrades therefore it is called the "forever drug."

Members responded to news of the Zantac recall by expressing concern about long-term health consequences from medications they have trusted, with many wondering what other treatments may eventually prove harmful. Several members shared their strong opinions about proton pump inhibitors (PPIs), describing them as overprescribed by doctors despite potential risks and difficulty discontinuing due to severe rebound reflux. A recurring theme was the belief that many people actually have too little stomach acid rather than too much, with members advocating for natural approaches like adding citrus to meals, eating smaller portions, and avoiding lying down after eating.

@A MyFibroTeam Member, you are absolutely correct. Most people don’t have enough acid, that’s why it pisses me off when these damn doctors hand out PPI’s and keep their patients on them for the rest of their life 😡 Anyone reading this that are taking PPI’s please read the damage they can do and how you can control your GERD naturally.

@A MyFibroTeam Member, I think you may be right, that instead of too much acid we have too little stomach acid. The problem then is the reflux and how to deal with that in a natural non medication way. I decided to increase my acidity by including more citrus in my foods (fresh lime/lemon juice in my cooking), smaller potions and not laying down within an hour of eating. The thought of the cancer causing ingredients staying in my body forever is a tremendous deterrent
