Does Anyone Experience Twitches?
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hi guys,
Ive been having twitches for almost two weeks already.
In my whole body, specially calves... legs and shoulder, its annoying but scary... im starting to think its something else.
Sobmy question is... how common is it? And how many of you have had it?
Back in 2017 i used to experience them, but they were never this consistent... haha

:/

I get them but usually at night when I’m resting and relaxed! Sometimes I will get such a bad jolt, it wakes me up from my sleep. So annoying but I believe it happens almost every night!

Fibroguy... I get twitches... not often, but when I do, it’s in my hands and fingers... once in a while in my neck. Sometimes I might get it when I’m out, and I try to either fold my arms or casually sit on my hands. It doesn’t last, but it’s frustrating and used to be scarey to me. I try to stay calm now, because I know it’ll pass. It’s not often, as I said, but still aggravates me. I’ve been on this site some years now, and I have read other people’s posts that have twitches. Keep inquiring here for their experience and support. If it continues, you might want to talk to your Dr so you know, and hopefully understand what it is or isn’t. With Fibro so many of our nerve endings vibrate and can hurt. But... not everything is Fibro related. I hope you get some answers and some relief. Sending hugs, Deb

Hi, sorry you are suffering from this right now. I do get those as well. Our muscles are overused/underused and tired. It is common for me to get them especially if I have overdone something. It can be all over sporadic twitches or localized. And they are super painful. If you have a muscle relaxer try taking one, if not ask your doctor. I tried multiple ones before I found Robaxin which works best for me and my spasms/twitches. Sometimes our muscles squeeze a nerve and that causes twitches too. Hope you find some relief soon. Gentle Hugs.
