Members widely confirmed that appetite changes are a common experience with fibromyalgia, with many describing fluctuating hunger that worsens significantly during flare-ups, often accompanied by nausea, weight loss, and fatigue. Several members shared that their appetite unpredictably swings between feeling no hunger at all to sudden intense hunger, with some noticing changes in how foods taste or feeling full despite needing to eat, leading many to rely on protein shakes or small frequent meals to maintain energy. A recurring theme was the frustration of managing these symptoms alongside limited mobility, brain fog, and the challenge of nourishing the body when appetite and pain are working against each other.

I feel like I get low blood sugar in the afternoons even if I ate a good lunch. I get very weak and tired and have lack of focus. I feel like I can hardly put a sentence together. I try to eat some protein and hydrate and rest.
