I take a multi-magnesium supplement at night, double dose, which helps my legs to relax. I've also read that people with fibro tend to be low in magnesium. I think your on a great track! I started peri-menopausal sx in my 40's, and was prescribed a progesterone cream, which help some.
Great job putting it into perspective. Everyone’s Fibro journey is as different and unique as they are.
I know this is going to sound strange but .....I read an article about restless legs and they suggested Vic's vapour rub (the sort you rub on chests) . I've tried this and while it doesn't get rid of it I feel it actually helps . I too wake in the night with very restless and painful legs. Give it a go , nothing to loose !
@A MyFibroTeam Member I have restless leg syndrome for many years and take generic Mirapex(Pramipexole) for it sometimes need 2 a day. Since my knee replacement surgery 3 weeks ago I am experiencing more of that so need to take 2 a day and a muscle relaxer. Sorry I can't be of more help. The one night it started at 7:30 and I asked for my meds 3 hrs later she comes in with the meds and I was crying for nearly half an hr already, all I said this is torture and there is no excuse for not giving my meds! She said she wanted to say something but you are too upset and she left the room. I waited 4 days for my other med I take everday as well! When I saw their Dr. I said there is no way you ordered that med when you said you did, I know it doesn't take 4 days to get it! I was in a skilled nursing Rehab place which is known for their care but for me it was a house of pure torture! I told my son I'd rather die then go back there and have to be tortured like that! My knee surgery had complications due to the fact the tendon came detached and had to be repaired too! So am wearing a stabilizer brace. Sorry for the rant, some people have no common sense when it comes to this sort of thing, I mean the stuff that they do sometimes makes no sense what so ever. Example: putting the over the bed table beyond your reach so you can't reach your water! Really dumb! Or my walker out of reach. Hope some one has answer for you.
I get them in my legs, as well. Physio has been very successful
