Members strongly related to the experience of feeling off-balance when standing after sitting, with many describing dizziness, wobbling, and the very real fear of falling that comes with it. Several members shared practical strategies that have helped them, including wearing compression socks, standing up more slowly in stages (rolling to the side before sitting up, then pausing before walking), doing muscle-squeezing exercises to pump blood flow, and stretching or rotating ankles before rising, especially after sleeping. A recurring theme was the scariness of these episodes, with members offering encouragement to hang in there, stay positive, and take extra precautions to prevent falls and injuries.

Yep, last month I passed out, fell and fractured a vertebrae. Now, before I get up, I stretch out my legs in front of me and rotate my ankles, just trying to get the blood flowing first. Especially a good idea for older folks, or those with low blood pressure, or those taking beta blockers.
