Since I know many suffer from IBS here, maybe someone can help. For several weeks I have had upper abdominal bloating. I always have had issues with constipation, but never have I had bloating in this area of my stomach. There is no pain, its all pressure, which is very weird! I am use to cramping/stabbing pain (at this point I wish I had that, at least I would know what is going on.) With the pressure there, there's a pressure on my rib cage that makes breathing uncomfortable (even difficult… read more

Members offered various perspectives on upper abdominal bloating and pressure that didn't respond to typical reflux medications, with several suggesting it could be acid reflux triggered by diet, gastritis, or GERD rather than IBS alone. One member shared a personal story of similar symptoms that turned out to be an inflamed gallbladder with gallstones, urging the original poster to get a quick physical test to rule it out before it becomes an emergency. Practical remedies suggested included Gaviscon Extra Strength liquid after meals, eating nuts to relieve constipation-related bloating, juicing cucumbers to reduce inflammation, and being mindful of acidic foods and trigger ingredients in the diet.

Also watch your diet: fatty foods, greasy, hydrogenated oils in prepackaged foods, peppermint tea, chocolates, etc

Hi, this is reminiscent of the symptoms I was suffering for several months before realising that it was my gall bladder that was inflamed. It got to the point where I couldn’t wear a bra because the pressure across my ribs and upper abdomen was unbearable. After meals would be the worst bloating and discomfort, I tried all sorts of digestion remedies and nothing worked. I was diagnosed with gallstones and an inflamed/infected gall bladder, had the whole thing removed. There is a quick simple physical test that any medically trained professional can do to see if you have an inflamed gall bladder, takes minutes, and is worth checking. Unfortunately, I didn’t recognise the symptoms and ended up in hospital, 300 miles from home, on a friends wedding day. No fun! Good luck, it may not be bladder related at all but did ring the warning bells 💜

Yes I have IBS, and I know it's related to Fibro. There's a lot of natural ways to reduce inflammation and swelling. Try juicing cucumbers and drink it fresh it does help me.I also take carafate for my esophageal ulcer. Big hug

Try Gaviscon Extra Strength liquid mint flavor...
After every meal and before bed. It won’t hurt you. If you get relief then maybe you have something like Gastritis and or GERD. You can reduce it as you feel better.

Fruits can be pretty acidic
I don't knw if you have a weight problem but if you have that would have an impact on reflux
