IBS is one of the many diseases/issues that go along with fibro. I was diagnosed with IBS way before I was diagnosed with Fibro. In fact when I was diagnosed the doctor was still calling it spastic colon and back then they put you on something like Klonopin, which I hated. Plus if anyone heard I was on it they offered me money to buy it. I was going through a bad divorce at the time and had no clue that I was starting my fibro journey, in fact I had never even heard of fibro back then.
I take magnesium. I get it OTC and usually buy what is on sale. Last time a twin pack of 250mg was on sale. I take 2 at night, I've always been told to take 500MG for daily maintenence. If I have constipation I will take another 500 but several hours apart.
I need to say that along with my new Paleo diet that I'm taking 3 magnesium caps every night at bedtime, which not only helps muscles to calm down but keeps me from being constipated, a never-ending problem for me.
Yeah. Going Paleo is really helping the IBS. PLUS, I have more energy.
Wow : you know , I thought about doing that as well. Thank you for sharing ! Best of luck to you ~
