May 12 Is fibromyalgia awareness day. Did anyone hear of this because I wasn't aware that we had one. I read it just started a year ago. Anyway, our theme color is purple which I can get into. I wear a lot of burgundy but I can do purple. Kind of like the mysterious bruises we get occasionally. Here's to us as a team and solidarity!! Here are all the color purple emojis on my phoneโฆ read more
I want to nominate a song for us. It's called "Deep Purple." There are 2 renditions of it and I'll attach screenshots of both on YouTube as well as the lyrics.
When I was growing up I was familiar with both versions and I always thought of it as one person longing another person. But now living with fibromyalgia for decades the person I miss is the person I used to be. How many of you can relate to this sentiment?
If not this song, what song could be our theme?
Every year I try my best to inform people about it and just discuss it and text or email Fibro awareness day. Itโs not much but it helps.
Yes! And I love this song by Jo dee Messina & Tim McGraw... "Bring on the Rain". It's inspirational & pertains to us to keep on going & fighting through each day. I've posted it here before, but I think this also is a good Fibromyalgia theme song. https://youtu.be/oUvOqP7HlA8
Jo Dee Messina Lyrics:
"Bring On The Rain"
(feat. Tim McGraw)
Another day has almost come and gone
Can't imagine what else could go wrong
Sometimes I'd like to hide away somewhere and lock the door
A single battle lost but not the war ('cause)
[Chorus:]
Tomorrow's another day
And I'm thirsty anyway
So bring on the rain
It's almost like the hard times circle 'round
A couple drops and they all start coming down
Yeah, I might feel defeated,
And I might hang my head
I might be barely breathing - but I'm not dead, no ('cause)
[Chorus]
I'm not gonna let it get me down
I'm not gonna cry
And I'm not gonna lose any sleep tonight ('cause)
Tomorrow's another day
And I am not afraid
So bring on the rain
[Chorus]
Bring on the rain; bring on the rain
Bring on the rain
Bring on, bring on, the rain
New to me. Wonder if it exists in S. Africa?
Fibromyalgia awareness day, May 12th has been around for many years. It started back when there were fibromyalgia support groups all over the country back in I think the 1990's sometime. For some reason the support groups all fell apart and people seem to have forgotten about our special day but it will be nice to revive it.
