Members shared their experiences with shortness of breath while resting, with many describing how tests came back normal despite persistent symptoms, leading several to conclude their breathing issues were fibromyalgia-related. Several members strongly recommended seeing a cardiologist or pulmonologist for thorough testing beyond basic chest x-rays, including stress tests and echocardiograms, with one member sharing a cautionary story about being diagnosed with pulmonary embolism two months after initial symptoms. A recurring theme was the importance of ruling out serious conditions like heart disease or asthma while also recognizing that unexplained breathing difficulties can be a fibromyalgia symptom.
