Has anyone ever found a accurate way of describing a flare up to a partner or anyone else who doesn't have fibro?
I give them two books one is called "Loving those With Fibromyalgia," and the other is called "Fibromyalgia for Dummies" And the movie called "Cake"
I always use this
When it's seen visually I think people tend to understand more xxxx
ask them if they remember the worst flu they ever had and the body aches that go with it ,, then i tell them skip the flu part ,, and remember the body aches ,,
Umm, I think no one will ever get it unless they feel it themselves but I try my best. Usually I describe it as really horrendous flu or I say “being in a hospital bed hooked up to a drip wouldn’t be out of place for how I am feeling.” My partners walked my shoes with chronic back pain, he was once bed ridden for 3 months so luckily he gets when I describe the pain as burning or crunching and twisting and throbbing and stuff. And with the fatigue I say, remember a time when you’ve been kept up all night then has work and been so exhausted you couldn’t think straight and wanted to cry, that but ramped up a gear. I hope your partner is being supportive to you hun ❤️ Xoxo
I just tell my husband everything that hurts and how I feel. He is super sympathetic and supportive. It is hard to explain, though.
