It could be costshondritis which is an inflammation the chest wall. Many of us with fibro have had it. It seems to be another fibro symptom. It took 2 er visits before they diagnosed me. Ask your doctor about it. I take ibuprofen and use ice packs to get the inflammation down. I hope you feel better.

Ive dealt with this issue for years. The burning, sharp pain in my ribs from my spine to my sides. It coukd get so bad it hurt to breathe. I would prop myself on the couch with pillows under my arms to prevent movement. My specialist prescribed 30mg then 60 mg of duloxetine with the lyrica I was already on. Only then did i get relief. I still get flares of it, but its never as bad as it was before duloxetine.

Yes I have been experiencing those pains especially in my ribcage area. It feels like you have on the tightest corset and something is still pulling it tight. Its the worst. I looked into it. There is the condition called the MS Hug. It might be the problem.

It could also be a type of inflammation in between the ribs. Might need an anti inflammatory.
