I used to get dep tissue massage for years. Loved it. I am very familiar with the fact you can feel achy and tender the next day. But in the last 2 years I have been having excruiating pain in the most severely knotted muscles starting hours later. Eapecially my neck muscles. I get that from taking a shower.. massaging hurts as it is done.. but the pain is different about 4 hours later after getting off the table.. like it has to catch up with me and when it does it takes me out! I understand what you are saying.. Maybe no more deep tissue massaging?Would the masseuse work with you to find your threshold?
@A MyFibroTeam Member. Yes we have to pay attention to things we do and decide if its worth the pain and exhaustion we will feel later. I always give myself a few days to recoup anytime I overdue it. You will learn your body and your limitations. It just takes time
After 30 years with fibro, I know when I'm gonna pay. Lol
Hi hun I had the same thing used to go to physio and they used to say I was all knotted up ,after they had finished I felt amazing until later that night when I would sit crying in horrendous pain, so now i always refuse any massage or malipulation, so thats the only thing i can suggest is just don't have a masage I know that sounds basic but it works for me hun xx lots of hugs
I quit getting massages years ago. I almost called 911 after the last one. Thought I was going to die in pain. AWFUL !
I can only get a massage..if they use their palm only ,,no fingers..if they use their fingers and push...the pain lasts for days or a week..I can only have a light massage with open hand and only palm of hand..
