I do this and I'm trying not to by telling myself if the thought is so important it can wait and if I forget it then it's not so important. Still, it is frustrating to me as well those people around me according to my fiancé.

Members strongly related to interrupting conversations out of fear of forgetting their thoughts, with many describing it as a common fibromyalgia symptom they manage by apologizing immediately or writing things down when possible. Several members shared practical coping strategies, including cutting yourself slack since memory issues are often beyond control, writing notes during conversations when appropriate, and communicating openly with others about why it happens. A recurring theme was concern about the original poster's fiancé being overly critical and unsupportive, with many members emphasizing that a truly supportive partner should show understanding and empathy rather than demanding fixes for symptoms tied to chronic illness.

Your fiancé is much too controlling!! I’m sure he has things he could work on like being a little more empathetic but of course he wouldn’t think anything is wrong with himself cause he’s a narcissist!! Believe me, he won’t change I know because I live with one who has caused me much heartache! Get out while you still can! And yes I interrupt because whoever I’m talking to waited for me to think of the word in the sentence so when I finally think of it, I blurt it out! Of course I always apologize but if I wait til they finish, I will forget again!!

Your fiancé seems to have a lot of criticisms about you and your symptoms. It isn't polite to interrupt but I do think it is often just a human thing to do!
The older we get, who we are is pretty well set. I'm sure there are minor habits that we can change, but it's worth asking-"is this something I WANT to change about myself?" If it causes you problems in your whole life it may be. But if it is only one persons criticism, I think it bears scrutiny.
You seem like a good person that is struggling with a few difficult heath issues without a lot of unconditional support. That's just hard- I know because I used to live like that.
Now I have changed that and although I still am sick, I hAve much less negativity in my life now. And that feels better!

Historically, yes. If I don't ask the question right when it comes to my mind, I will forget it. So at work, I try to write it down as people are talking. My boss doesn't like that either bc she thinks you're not listening to her if you write while she's talking but whatever. At home, not as easy bc someone will think you're interrupting them. If I wait to say what Im thinking, I often lose the thought mid sentence.

I do this as well. And as frustrating as it is, I have found solace in the fact that just like many of the other irritating parts of this disease, we can only do the best we can do. So if someone gets frustrated with it then so be it. Unfortunately there’s not much we can do to control it, so cut yourself some slack, and don’t stress yourself out over it. You don’t need to go into a flare because of stress over possibly irritating someone. Sending love!
