How long does your lump feeling stay? Mine was there for a month then it went away.
And after about 2 to 3 weeks its back. I really do not believe its something other than fibro or CFS. The past 2 weeks has been stressful again and the weather is hot/cold/hot/cold... I think it could be a flare up because i also feel really depressed and SUPER TIRED! I dont struggle with swallowing and its not painful. Its… read more

I’ve had this feeling/ lump in throat on and off since July. Had my thyroid checked, ultrasound and CT nothing shows up. Saw a ENT, looked down my throat, only irritation. I do have swollen lymph nodes and sore throat often. Even went to a hematologist/oncologist to check the lumps. Nothing wrong. I also have a clicking sound sometimes when I swallow. So only explanation is fibro/anxiety. Lump in throat, swollen throat, and swollen lympnodes is common in CFS and is now added to the list of fibro symptoms.
I had this and the only thing that helped was taking my klonipin.
Oh my gosh! Thought i was the only one had never really seen anyone list this as a symptom! But yes i constantly feel like i have a lump in my throat i have to constantly suck on mints to make me not gag or feel like im suffocating
I notice that when my TMJ or sinuses are acting up more than usual, and other times I'm having issues with my right shoulder/shoulderblade and neck/collarbone are that I get those painful, spasming and thick fibrous bands of tightened tissue in and around my neck. They sometimes will encompass my lymph nodes in my neck causing them to be swollen and tender which also causes it to be noticeably bothersome when swallowing.
After having major sinus drainage problems for years to the point where I had to take OTC Severe Sinus medicine practically every 4 hours for years. . . . I only recently learned that along with all the other trigger points I THOUGHT I already knew about with Fibro, there are actually several sinus trigger points that can get activated that will cause your sinuses to constantly drain . . .which will also severely irritate your throat in that way, often causing pretty significant pain when swallowing -- thus feeling like a lump in your throat. After having that issue for YEARS, I recently was prescribed Celecoxib (Celebrex generic - NSAID) as just a simple anti-inflammatory for my degenerative disc disease and arthritis -- but an added benefit was that it eliminated about 80% of the issues I was dealing with in regard to my sinuses. I only need to use an ocassional homeopathic nasal spray now, as opposed to the 3 or 4 doses of sinus meds I had to take for over 10 years!
Regarding your lump in the throat. If you go to the main page of this site there is a piece written on FM and lumps. It says some people experience lumps.
But all that said I would go to the doc and rule out anything more serious.
Then you will know what's wrong or not and stop worrying so much.
I'm sorry you have this issue.
