Do any of you still wonder if this is real? Do you question whether you have fibro? i guess i am going through the denial stage, cos i have silly thoughts in my head, suggesting that it's not fibro, and then the ringing drowns it out and the pain screams on through...being silly i guess...

Members validated the common experience of doubting whether fibromyalgia is real, acknowledging that the invisible nature of the condition and past medical dismissal can make even those living with daily symptoms question their diagnosis. Several members shared that hopeful moments during good spells can lead to wishful thinking that it's over, only for pain, fatigue, brain fog, and other symptoms to return as undeniable proof. A recurring theme was finding comfort in community solidarity and emerging research showing brain inflammation on MRI scans, which helps members trust their lived experience and resist the lingering self-doubt that comes with an often-stigmatized invisible illness.

It's real gals. I've had it 35 years.
Hook into the fibromyalgia associations news letters and read what's new with FM from a research stand point.
Amazing research has now seen a person with fms brain in a MRI and study's prove its swollen cells in our brain.

It is not silly. We all hope that it isn't real and we wake up pain free. We can think it isn't real, but, in reality, the pain and other symptoms are a constant reminder that it is fact very real.

Because it’s only recently I have been diagnosed I’m still on that mind set where I question everything, is it real? Am I mad? Am I imagining it all? I know in myself that all these questions are ridiculous but I can’t quite shake them off. Pain, fatigue, insomnia, sweating, this weird inner weakness that I can’t describe, depression, forgetfulness, foggy brain, anxiety. They ARE all real, I also question is it the title that we have an issue with because it was brushed to the side as a nothing in the past. I can’t get my head round any of it.
I hope you find your answer. Stay strong x

Even if you think you don't have fibro by name, the symptoms are still there and so many people have it. Are we all in denial? I think not as the symptoms are real and very similar to each other. So whatever you wish to call this, invisible as it is, it's still there with pain and fatigue. I know I have it! Even if Dr's don't believe in it! We're all in this together, @A MyFibroTeam Member
