I am in the process of being diagnosed and my Dr has prescribed amitriptyline to help me sleep my kidney function has dropped to borderline and she has advised me not to take ibuprofen .i get restless leg syndrome and wodwring which meds are best for this

I take hylands leg cramp pills which are all natural and work good. They have pills for restless legs too. I get them at Wal-Mart or drugstores for about $7.

I take amitriptyline at night, I take Siffrol which is for restless legs and I have tremors, it's like a Parkinson's medication. And I'm on Lyrica which has been a life saver for me.

i would ask about swapping to nortriptylene.. it's a newer version of amitriptylene that doesn't come with as many side effects. you could also ask to get your iron levels and vitamin d levels checked as both of those can make restless leg synrome worse

I am in the US. They will prescibe the one form, but not the more expensive long-acting “time release”. I have Medicare. I don’t know what they do in your country about an “off label” use.
