Restless Arms???
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

What exactly does restless arms feel like? Sometimes I have a feeling of electricity in my hands and feet (almost like a low hum) but I notice right now when I get it, it's almost like this surge of energy and I just want to move my hands around and twist them, etc. But I never really know what restless legs or arms is supposed to feel like.

@A MyFibroTeam Member, sounds like it's nerve pain or some type of nerve problem. Because our nerves cause those kind of zapping feelings. Have you gone to the Dr? As not everything is fibro. I know going to the Dr is a pain in the rear because they seldom take us seriously, especially when we go in with something they don't understand like random feelings like you're describing. I'm sure others on here have those same feelings too! Hang in there, sending gentle hugs to you Amy, and hoping you'll be feeling better soon and those feelings will eventually stop! But if not, at least go see the Dr, see what he says about it!

Yes that is what I tell people. It feels like you have the flu all the time.

I hear you. It’s very frustrating. Twitching appears to be common in those with fibromyalgia. I went down that “fatal disease” hole and it made me extremely anxious. From what I’ve read and have been told, I’m sure you have done research as well, is that twitching is benign most of the time is nothing serious. When it is serious, muscle weakness will occurs along with muscle wasting. Muscle weakness in that you can’t hold a cup or lift your arm. True muscle weakness would require you to put all your force into a movement and little is achieved. And usually the twitching comes after the weakness and wasting as the twitching is a sign that the muscle is dying. Plus that disease is extremely rare, for women is very rare and it’s even more rare in our age. We would have to be the most un lucky people in the world. I see you are a believer, so believe that although this is bothersome and stressful it’s something we can live with and God will get us through it. Last night was a rough one for me and I kept waking up with the twitching. Hoping it goes away soon.

Yeah...I don't know what this is...it's just some months worse than others and feels like a dull current of electricity that mainly hits my hands and feet but I can feel it running down my arms and legs and it's most powerful in the feet and hands. It happens in a matter of nano seconds and then is gone but does it on and off all day when it happens to me. I don't really get jerky legs but the sensations obviously feel so weird that I do feel like I want to crawl out of my skin
