Members shared a wide range of medications they use to manage fibromyalgia pain, with Lyrica, Cymbalta, gabapentin, tramadol, and amitriptyline being the most commonly mentioned, though experiences varied significantly with some finding relief and others reporting little to no benefit. Several members described combining multiple medications and treatments, including muscle relaxers like Soma and Flexeril, cortisone or nerve block injections, and medical marijuana, with many noting that finding the right combination often required extensive trial and error. A recurring theme was deep frustration with doctors cutting back or refusing to prescribe opioids like oxycodone and Percocet despite them being the only effective option for some members, leading to emotional discussions about the opioid crisis unfairly punishing chronic pain patients who genuinely need relief.

My doc set me up with a pain management doctor who gives me shots into my spine and while it sucks for the first 2 days it gives me relief for a few weeks right now. 675mg Lyrica, meloxicam, venlafaxine and other meds but Lyrica is my #1 drug besides Prednisone. I couldn’t work 40 hours each week if it weren’t for my meds.

Again, my doctor says that oxycodone shouldn’t work for fibro but it’s the only thing that helps me and thank god he will still prescribe it for me!! I also take amitriptylene at night and it stopped the leg pain and Charlie horses in my legs and I actually get sleep now!!! For the first time in years, I actually sleep at least six hours a night, usually eight! I get nerve block shots in my shoulders which really help the deep down pain there and helps the shooting pain down my arms a bit!! Of course I take anti-depressants as well cause who isn’t depressed with this illness!! Good luck!

Awe, they say some things work better for others, case in point, my injections have been a god sent...so it seems.
Alot of healthier ways out there, holistic, meditation, acupuncture, religion, and healing with prayer.
That's the thing about society is we believe going to the doctor is the answer, it so is not. Maybe for other things, but not for pain, not at all.
I pray healthy prayers for your pain relief, God bless :)
