Does aquatic therapy help more then physical therapy?
I found a physical therapy place that did aqua therapy at one point, and that was very helpful. I am definitely in a place of needing something again, see the doc in a week and will be completely picking his brain. The aquatic therapy help me build strength in the pool while being “weightless” in the water, and it taught me how to be in the water and stretch and move to ease pain, not hurt myself, so I could join a gym with a pool and not have to be there at class time.
Aqua was great to be in the water but the pain once left the water was to much for my spine to take (went from feeling normal weight to feeling like id gained three times my body weight getting out of the water and being unable to actually leave the water without the use of a aqua chair system.
PT not much better but at least the body can still supports itself after a session.
It was for me. Just didn't like the showering and changing clothes. I'm also a germophob lol.
Thanks I will pick my doctor's brain as well about this maybe do both to see if that works.. getting so bad can on do one flight of stairs and I run an apartment complex with six different stair ways for each section of the apartment only one flight each but use to 🏃 up and down then all day with no problem then slowly got worse . Thankful my tenants understand and sometimes help me up or come down to meet me.
I think aquatic therapy is better for the joint pain and tenderness. Physical therapy caused increased pain for me.
