Bruised Spine From Lumbar To Mid Spine
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

I highly doubt if this has anything to do with my fibro, do any osteoarthritis sufferers have this problem? It's after grown to twice it's original size since last year and my spine is more sore than ever before, I get this unbelievable clicking in my spine and it feels like it's crumbling away (6 year ago an MRI confirmed lumbar was erroding), doctors aren't doing anything about it should I be concerned about it?

It might be worthwhile to consider your options. What can you do now in life to enhance your long-term quality of life? Would taking the time to find a good doctor (rheumatologist, spine sports doctor/ surgeon, etc) worthwhile at this juncture so you can find some real healing for your spine? It may be worthwhile to research, research, research the he'll out of your condition. There are all kinds of things that can be done that we can't cover such as intensive physical therapy, massage (the right kind), holistic treatments, the list goes on.
You have choices to make. I can tell you don't want to be a passive observer of your own life. Good luck and God bless.

I would be very concerned Stepcho. I personally would see a Rheumatologist and a Neurologist. There has to be some way to get you the relief you need. My very good friend in Australia got a pain pump put in to help her with what she had. There are also T.E.N.S units that can deliver a mild electrical shock that interrupts the pains signal to the brain. It worked wonders for me. Be your own advicate for your health. Find out what you need and keep fighting until you get it . Gentle hugs

I've no idea, had a very painful episode last Friday which led to me being hospitalized, my diagnoses is OA but a doctor in the hospital told me it was ankylosis (can't be that as that's bone fusion not degredation) I've been given terrible treatment over the last 6 years and I really feel like they could do more, my GP only advises Lyrica for fibro and nothing for whatever is happening to my spine, the pain makes me extremely angry and frustrated when I get that crumbling feeling in my spine, to the point where I'd nearly bang my head off of a brick wall to get relief (I won't but I've noticed that self harm pops into my head as if it will fix it when it's happening, but I never act on it).

Yes I definitely would be concerned about it. @A MyFibroTeam Member! Is this what they call osteoporosis? The erosion of the spine and twice the size has got to be extremely painful. I would be concerned! I would see a rheumatologist first and let them refer you to another specialist if necessary! Gentle hugs for you!

Neither have I truth be told. I'm maintaining at the moment. I'm going to see my doc on Tuesday about my antidepressants, or as my roommate calls them, my happy pills. And I have some strange bruising I can't account for. So we shall see.
