Members rallied around someone newly diagnosed with fibromyalgia seeking pain relief, sharing a wide range of medications that have helped them including tramadol, amitriptyline, gabapentin, pregabalin, ibuprofen, and CBD oil, while cautioning about serious risks like serotonin syndrome when combining certain drugs. Several members offered non-medication strategies such as Epsom salt baths, heating pads, gentle yoga, and herbal remedies, emphasizing that finding the right combination requires patience and trial and error since everyone's body responds differently. A recurring theme was the frustration of dismissive doctors and dangerous side effects, met with encouragement to advocate fiercely for oneself, switch providers when necessary, and never stop searching for relief.

Hi. Welcome to the fibro team. First of all gentle hugs to you. I find for me that ibuprofen is good and I take 10 mg of amitpyrtline at night. It helps with sleep and I find for me it helps a lot with my pain. We are all different so I wish you good luck. Keep smiling and hang in there xx💘💘

Sorry you're in so much pain ❤️ I find motri max works well for pain relief, also a warm bath with Epsom salts. Heating pads can offer some relief as well and those bags with beans or rice that you throw in the microwave for a bit feel very nice.

Pregabalin but higher dose and warm baths helps a bit.

My Neurologist tried to tell me that Cymbalta was a GOOD drug and then my pain mgmt Dr put me on Tramadol and I was having terrible side effects and nearly passed out three times. My heart was beating so fast that I could barely breathe. Got appt with Cardiologist and he admitted me to hospital from his office. I had SERATONIN SYNDROME and that can be caused from a antidepressant and pain medication. I spent five days in hospital having all sorts of tests, heart cath and finally they took me off Tramadol and some of my symptoms disappeared. You can die from this, so be aware of all this medication that Drs put you on that we can't tolerate. We have to be our own advocates.

Welcome new member! I'm currently taking Gabapentin, Sevella and tramadol. I've just started taking Sevella. Maybe you could talk to your Doctor about these medications. They seem to help with pain and Fibro symptoms. Hot packs, mild yoga is very helpful. My prayers for you.
