Members responded to someone asking about side effects from stopping Cymbalta, with experiences ranging widely from no withdrawal effects to severe symptoms lasting weeks or months, including unusual head sensations, overwhelming depression, and prolonged fatigue. Several members shared tapering strategies they found helpful, such as slowly weaning under a doctor's guidance, counting and removing beads from capsules to create smaller doses, and using CBD oil to ease the transition, though some still experienced a return of severe depression even with gradual tapering. A recurring theme was that Cymbalta can be extremely difficult to discontinue, with withdrawal timelines and severity varying greatly from person to person, making it essential to work closely with a doctor and taper very slowly rather than stopping abruptly.

I think they have to put you on a different antidepressant at the end to get off it. Then you can go off the other drug.

Hi: Getting off of Cymbalta is not easy. It takes a long time to taper off this medication. I hated taking it and felt so much better after I got off of it. It did help some with the pain, but really made my head and mind feel mixed up. It interacts with so much other medications, so be careful. It landed me in the hospital with TRAMADOL.
