Is anyone here vegan? I have been vegetarian for years and had a few unsuccessful attempts at veganism. The list of things i cant eat is growing so i just wondered if anyone was vegan and could say how it affected fibro. Thanks x
Instead of carrying only snacks would getting a lunchbox type cooler (some even keep food cool plugged into cigarette lighter) and carrying a few meals with you work better? πΈπΌβ€πΌπΈ
Born vegitarian and went vegan/plant based a decade ago. Andnin 2012 went gluten free.
Was dianosed with fibro near the end of 2016.
I am not vegan but I make sure I eat vegetables and fruit. I really think the vegetables help you and it's important to eat them. Sugar is always a problem. I liked using Arnica as a rub and it would help the Fibromyalgia and relieve the pain and stiffness. I had a lot of trouble with my neck. I had to do certain exercises everyday and maybe three times a day, they were like stretching exercises. Important to take your vitamins like Vitamin D3 and also Vitamin C and some people think Magnesium is really important. I always took a hot to medium hot shower everyday to get me started. I never took any pills for it.
Thanks everyone. @A MyFibroTeam Member I really want to be vegan. I already try to be gluten free, but where I come unstuck is when I am not at home. I carry snacks around with me but I always seem to get stuck with no options.
@A MyFibroTeam Member, no difference for me being vegetarian, other than for some reason I became chronically anemic. I even mixed beans and rice to get a complete protein. So I eat really healthy. Lots of pasta, potatoes, sweet potatoes, lean chicken, turkey and quark, ricotta, blueberries daily, large fruit bowls and cooked veggies. Feel so much better since I have lost 46 lbs in 30 weeks on slimmingworld.com, and walk my dog a couple times a day. Take naps daily, finally without guilt! Drink lots of black decaf tea for antioxidants. Try to do everything I can to keep myself healthy. Not perfect by no means! Still love my coffee and cigarettes in the morning! Showers and baths are still a struggle, I hate fixing my hair, too curly to just let go naturally, lol!
