Yes it is very weird!

I have pain at the top if my head, not really sure if it's my hair or my head but usually feel it when I wash my hair in the shower then I get headaches afterwards.

Oh yes! I've had hair pain for years now. Check your color. Do you have red hair? What is really bizarre is how bad my hair pain became when I dyed my hair red. I already have natural red hair ( dark auburn) in the summers and black in the winter naturally, but I wanted a more vibrant red all year 'round, so I dyed it. I had more hair pain when I was a red-head than at any other time. Someone explained to me that regardless of how we go red ( natural or bottle) that red hair absorbs more light and heat. Redheads are also more sensitive to pain. This is a bizarre phenomenon. Of course, we do have nerve endings attached to the scalp that receives " messages" from the hair follicles. For we Fibro folks, we get strange pains in the most unlikely of places and sure enough, I had this burning sensation on my scalp and terrible hair pain when exposed to bright artificial lights and intense outdoor sun. I switched back to black with only a small amount of red tone, which is more my natural color, no longer work out of the home in an office ( I use only dim natural light in my home office) and stay out of bright sun for too long and no more hair pain! Unless I pull it up into a real tight pony-tail, which I avoid. So, if you are a redhead, whether natural or from a bottle, if you want to reduce hair-pain, maybe changing to a color that neutralizes light instead of absorbing so much of it, might be a better option. Same for not exposing yourself to bright light for too long of periods. It worked for me. Maybe it might work for others.

I have had the apparent hair pain for 3-4 months now. I also have the itching all over too. It’s really weird because for a while I thought it was just because it was hot; my head was getting hot. I don’t know, it’s very painful. over the last two months I’ve had 6 inches of my hair cut 2 inches at a time thinking that this would help. it’s crazy because there’s no relief. So no, you’re not crazy. I thought I was crazy too. We just have a crazy autoimmune disease.
