I’ve been told that I have IBS by my gastroenterologist. I have daily abdominal aches mainly left sided. I also as of late been getting pelvic pain. I got checked out by my OBGYN and uterus and ovaries are fine. I wake up daily with urge to use the restroom, it alternates with normal to constipation. I sometimes have the urge to go even after I already went. Anyone else have IBS daily? I read about flare ups but I seem to have it all the time. I’m not in terrible pain more like a discomfort… read more

Members shared their experiences with daily IBS symptoms, confirming that constant discomfort rather than occasional flare-ups is common for many, especially those who also have fibromyalgia. Several members described helpful strategies including taking daily fiber supplements, eliminating gluten and dairy from their diets, using prescribed laxatives like Movicol, and pursuing thorough testing like endoscopies and scans to rule out other conditions such as diverticulitis. A recurring theme was the frustration of managing unpredictable symptoms that range from severe constipation to urgent diarrhea, pain that migrates to different areas, and the challenge of getting doctors to take the daily impact seriously.

its funny ( no its not !) I have IBS-C and for years I lived writhing in pain. No doctor could say why. Yet Ill never forget the day my doc said well no kidding it hurts YOU ARE FULL OF S$#T POOP. literally It had crossed to the right side of my bowels and my tummy felt like a rock. Never did find out why it has not bothered me much since the beginning of fibro. Im assuming the pain of each and every day is trumping my tummy and I dont eat much now anyways.lost 40 lbs since back surgery and fibro. all that and home on disability too. My doc says blood work is always perfect so I told her to put all clients on cake and ice cream diets! It works 4 me........How about you?

Yes, but if you drink gross fiber drinks you can get rid of a lot of gas and avoid dairy products because they irritate your intestines more.

I too have IBS and its ALWAYS. I'm always gassy. I never know how long the constipation will last, but when it let's lose I suffer for days of cramps and running to the bathroom. You are definitely not alone.

@A MyFibroTeam Member. I had been diagnosed with INS years ago. Constipation mostly, then at times once I cleared the path, horrible diarrhea and gas. My pain was strange, it was right at the top of my stomach, doubled over with pain again and again. After being diagnosed with my back problems, had 2 years of spinal injections, and a failed surgery I still get constipated but the pain moved WAY DOWN to my right side groin and dead in the middle on outside of drink, both sides. And you can bet if I can't hold a good posture the pain is relentless. Now,? Back or IBS??? Who knows... too much
