Has Your Pain Become Worse Over Time?
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Ive had fibro among other pain related issues and am much worse than I started out. Just wondered if a lot of you are that way. Ive had chronic pain for about 20 years now. I was able to work for about the first 8 years and am now on disability. I used to have low pain days and now have very very few if any. Just wanting to know if others out there who are long term fibro patients have had this occur?

@A MyFibroTeam Member It has been a little over 30 years for me. Yes, I can tell the last 8-10 years are worse than before. I'm sure getting older has something to do with it for me. I was diagnosed in my 30's and now I'm 63 and I can definitely tell a difference.....of course everyone has a different journey they have been through. I've had many surgeries not associated with fibro years ago.....also several bad falls on my tailbone (having difficulty with now).....fatigue and weakness is overwhelming at times. But, you know I wish someone would explain why we fibro sufferers can go months with no good days and then all of a sudden we have a few good days.....what is different in our bodies that allows us to have those good days? It's so frustrating....whatever is happening in our bodies to be able to function better would be a miracle if the doctors could figure it out. At times I feel like giving up.....I still have some hope that something will be figured out to help us with no bad side effects. This is a good question Sarah.....Take care of yourself, Linda

I've had multiple trauma experiences in my life and each time my pain and the frequency has went up. Now I have very few if any low pain days and without my tramadol I am worthless and depressed. Thank God that the new pain doctor has not taken it away even though they put me to more expense for another doc and travel that I don't need. reading all the other posts now, childhood trauma, then lost business, then lost job, no replies to thousands of resumes sent out, then more pain. God bless and I hope you have a "pain" medication that is helping. Gaba and things like lyrica only made me feel like I had dementia and slept all the time. Here with the rediculous attitude about pain meds doctors are giving fibro patients everything in the world BUT what they need for their PAIN !!! Hard for me not to cuss about it. Stupid people OD on drugs and responsible people pay the price.

You wud hope we wud get a break, right?
I am trying to become a friend to my pain instead of trying to reject I or hate it.
Maybe trying to talk to it.
Hope I don't sound too crazy.

@A MyFibroTeam Member Hi Sarah......went to my appointment today. I really like the doctor and was easy to talk to .....he was recommended by my PT.......Will start my acupuncture the week of May 28.....and also the cold laser therapy.....will let you know how these procedures go. I've had acupuncture before with good results but the lady I went to is too far to drive back and forth from where I live now. Hope it helps me :o) Also, will let you know how the cold laser therapy goes when I start treatment. From the information I read about it I'm anxious to see if it helps some. Any lessening of pain is a blessing. Take care Sarah! Linda
