So Ive had fibromyaglia for 10 years now and I am currently taking Lexapro 10mg for it. It recently has not been working as I have had severe anxiety with bouts of depression. I saw my doctor and she put me on 10 mg of Valium because she said it would help with my muscle tightness and my anxiety. I feel like lexapro maybe isnt the best option for me. My hands also have a mild tremor and the doctor noticed it yesterday but didnt say much about it. What could that be? Anyone have any advice on the… read more

Members rallied around someone struggling with breakthrough anxiety despite taking Lexapro, sharing a variety of medications that have worked for them, including Buspar (buspirone), Cymbalta, nortriptyline, and lorazepam, often in combination with Valium or other muscle relaxants. Several members emphasized the deeply personal nature of finding the right medication fit and encouraged the original poster to advocate for adjustments if their current regimen isn't helping, while also suggesting non-pharmaceutical tools like adult coloring books, which many found surprisingly effective for calming anxiety. A recurring theme was the importance of addressing root causes, with one member urging exploration of trauma-informed therapy like Internal Family Systems for long-term relief beyond medication alone.

I asked my doc for muscle relaxants, which help with the tightness of muscles, for me anyway, but did give me a few odd side effects....(no meds seems to be without these, for me anyway)...
Anti anxiety meds are a personal thing i think....Ive been on dosulepin for a very long time and they really help the anxiety and help to sleep...but its personal.
I too have developed a tremor but have had a lot of stress the last year and the docs dont know what it is....another neurological symptom is my guess....
Just try your best and if you feel the meds your one aren’t helping then try something else....
Good luck to you....gentle hug..x

Yes, I have numbness and tingling in my arms, legs, hands and feet. I have muscle faciculations as well as pain and burning sensation. I have to see a Neuro for nerve damage testing and vitamin deficiency. It can be a simple b vitamin thing, so don't worry yourself too much yet :)
