Has anyone heard about fibro affecting internal organs like the heart and lungs? My specialist told me it can happen and i'm wondering if anyone has experienced that? Ive had trouble with it affecting organs in digestive system and triggering pain flares there and now im having issues with my heart and lungs. It feels like a fibro flare and behaves like one too i'm just wondering if anyone has had this?
I have been diagnosed with pericarditis, due to the fibro AND i after numerous bouts of pneumonia through the years and multiple findings of cysts and constant what I just refer as the elephant that visits and sits on my chest,I would answer YES. My rheumoies and other UW (University of Washington) specialty medicine resources would agree... ;)
@A MyFibroTeam Member yes I have had issues with my heart on and off for years and had a few ecg’s too showing a few issues but just recently everything there is good.
I did suffer a lot of high and low blood pressures for close on 2 years now and what was thought to be heart attack, was in fact Costrogitis
I would get a good heart health work up, a stress test, EKG....I had this done last year and all was OK. I do get short winded sometimes and it is a very frightening feeling. I notice when I take Flexeril I feel very heavy in my chest, I try not to take it.
I've been having digestive issues myself. Never soft or hard stools. I also have a history of heart problems in my family but my heart has always been iffy. I've noticed (now that I'm passing attention because I thought it was normal) that it's difficult for me to breath, I stop breathing, or when I inhale, I feel like I cannot get enough. Is this something you're experiencing too?
It seems as though a lot of people experience these problems which is somewhat reassuring. I'll get all the necessary tests done to rule out nasty issues but i'm wondering if anyone has found anything that helps to ease these issues? Any tips or tricks to settle the heart or get rid of the elephant on your chest so to speak?
