Non-opioid Treatment
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

My doctors are no longer wanting to prescribe some of my pain medications due to the opioid crisis. I have cut down to nearly nothing, but I am in excruciating pain. My rheumatologist said to take Aleve...big joke....Does anyone have anything that's worked for them? Im already on effexor, gabapentin and cymbalta but they're just not enough....

I’m so sick and tired of this bullshit with not wanting to prescribe opioids because of these idiots that are abusing it for a high! I wish there was something we could do to make everyone realize that some of us need these opioids just to survive on a daily basis! And yes I mean survive cause life with fibro is hard enough to endure with opioids, I can’t imagine not having them!!! Thank god so far my doctor has never mentioned not prescribing them and I honestly don’t know what I’ll do if he does. I believe he is smart enough to realize there are many of us that need them without abusing them and they are the only thing that gives us a little relief! As you can see this is a very touchy subject for me and like I always say, those idiots have a choice to not take them, unfortunately with my pain I don’t have a choice!!! Ugh!🤬

try going to a pain management clinic they are better at giving and keeping you on your pain meds. I have not had any problems since I started going to them almost 6 yrs ago.

I agree with @A MyFibroTeam Member. I read an article a few weeks ago, called: "The Other Opioid Crisis". about how chronic pain patients are being denied opioid pain killers. There is a lot of suffering going on. I was without oxycodone for most of a year because of this. Just recently I was able to get back on it again. It has made a big difference in my pain levels at night ( the only time I take It).

Yes here in Vegas it's legal. I have tried the CBD oil but it really didn't help. I met someone who has a shop of only CBD without the THC (since I'm still working and they drug test) and I am going in to see what they can suggest and why. He claims there are different % of CBD strengths. I have also tried, when I'm really hurting and will take anything, gummies since I don't smoke. They take the edge off..but still worried with work.
Thanks for your suggestion.
