I have been having horrible finger and thumb pain. My grip is not good as well. Been checked for carpel tunnel and arthritis, nothing. Anyone else have any of these issues?

Members rallied around someone experiencing severe finger and thumb pain with weakened grip that wasn't explained by carpal tunnel or arthritis testing, with many sharing they experience similar hand stiffness, aching thumbs, difficulty gripping objects, and pain that ranges from throbbing to sharp sensations. Several members offered practical strategies including magnesium oil, Voltaren gel, gabapentin for nerve pain, neck and shoulder injections, keeping arms straight during sleep to avoid nerve compression, and morning stretching routines to reduce stiffness. A recurring theme was the challenge of distinguishing fibromyalgia symptoms from other conditions, with many describing how their hand pain connects to muscle twitching, odd skin sensations, and nerve-related issues that seem central nervous system related, often triggered or worsened by stress and anxiety.

Try a magnesium oil, supplements etc, voltaren gel. Peripherals (hands and feet) have more nerves than elsewhere so easily affected. Maybe gabapentin to reduce the nerve messages.

My hands seize up and ache. I have pain in my inner elbows that radiates to my hands. It effects my grip and fine motor skills.

Have you had an xray or MRI done on your cervical discs? I have herniated discs and stenosis in my neck which causes some arm and hand pain.

I do have a lot of finger and thumb pain. I have been tested for carpal tunnel and have been told I have it pretty bad. I was tested for it 12 years ago. They did the needle prick and the shock testing. It sucked pretty bad. My pain feels different though. It's almost muscular. It's a throbbing through my fingers. I also get the zapping stinging and numbness on the tips of my fingers. My hands fall asleep a lot. My grip is bad at times. I don't know whats carpal tunnel and what's fibro at this point.

I too find it very hard to grip things.I think my brain doesn't tell my hand to grip.I'm terribly clumsy and tettible at dropping things.in my left hand I have arthritis and my right hand I have little strength due to a strain or due to the fybromialja getting worse in my right arm.have terrible Sharp pains and really bad aching pains. Do take care and I have stiffness too. Suppose getting older.was 45 yesterday. Take care.
