I have had it since October and had a mammogram in January that was fine. I am scheduled for a ultrasound.

Yes lots from cysts and costcrondritis a very painful condition. I was given ibuprofen gel, and told to wear a soft good supportive bra. I also wear a soft sports bra to sleep in. That helps. A few cysts got quite big and I had them aspirated (drained by a fine needle) which was fairly painless. Best always be checked. God bless 🌸

Unfortunately it's also a symptom of fibro, pain, tenderness, and sensitivity are normal if you experience any other symptoms like swelling, nipple discharge, or drastic change in color then it's not fibro. Since your sister had breast cancer, ask her about the signs and symptoms, go to any doctors appointments that test for that and to be on the safe side tell yourself it's just the fibro so you don't exhaust yourself with worry. Breast pain is very common with fibromyalgia patients and studies done have shown that breast pain is almost always benign, I know it can be a cause for concern, I get sent for tests all the time because something new isn't feeling normal. Let me know how the test goes.

Yes I do as well. They stay tender though my gyno says that is due to my age and told just like @A MyFibroTeam Member fibrocystic breast (also age related). Mammograms are Normal for my age. I disagree with my Gyno. They are always EXTREMELY tender and not associated with my menstrual cycle. Sometimes I will get a sharp pain that last for a few seconds but seems like minutes. Sometimes in the left and sometimes in the right. I know there are Pressure Points at the 2nd Intercostal space which is right above each breast but below your collar bone. That is not where those sharp stabbing pains come from.

@A MyFibroTeam Member These are fibro related Treatment options for breast cysts include: Fine-needle aspiration. Your doctor uses a hair-thin needle to drain the fluid from the cyst. Removing fluid confirms that the lump is a breast cyst and, in effect, collapses it, relieving associated discomfort. Surgical excision. Rarely, surgery may be needed to remove a persistent cyst-like lump that doesn't resolve after repeated aspiration and careful monitoring or has features that concern your doctor during a clinical exam. Examples of treatment options for breast pain include: Over-the-counter pain relievers, such as acetaminophen (@ [[treatment:@Tylenol:54c864e0860875808e0003a3]], others) or nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), such as @ ibuprofen (@ [[treatment:@Advil:54c833ec8608754f1e000510]], @ Motrin IB, others) or prescription medication. Oral contraceptives, which lower the levels of cycle-related hormones linked to fibrocystic breast changes. Request an Appointment at Mayo Clinic Lifestyle and home remedies You might find relief from symptoms of fibrocystic breasts through one of these home remedies: Wear a firm support bra, fitted by a professional, if possible. Wear a sports bra during @ exercise and while sleeping, especially when your breasts are extra sensitive. Limit or avoid caffeine, a dietary change many women report as helpful, although medical studies of caffeine's effect on breast pain and other premenstrual symptoms have been inconclusive. Decrease the fat in your diet, which may decrease breast pain or discomfort associated with fibrocystic breasts. Reduce or stop taking hormone therapy if you're postmenopausal — but be sure to talk to your doctor before making any change in your prescription medications. Use a heating pad or warm water bottle to relieve your discomfort.
