Members shared mixed experiences with cutting fizzy drinks, with several noticing improvements in gastrointestinal symptoms, bloating, and overall energy, while others found it made little difference to their fibromyalgia or IBS symptoms. Many members emphasized reducing or eliminating sugar and artificial sweeteners like aspartame and Splenda, noting that sugar reduction helped decrease pain levels and that certain sweeteners caused fatigue or other negative effects. A recurring theme was the value of experimenting with dietary changes to see what works individually, with some members finding relief by switching to water, tea, or home-cooked meals instead of sodas and processed foods.

Yes read up on aspartame and sugar and how it affect pain and nerves etc. Basically it's poison.

It is something I have to do. Diet drinks, included. I think the phosphoric acid kills your teeth. Aspartame causes all sorts of fatigue problems with me and Splenda is not much better.

I have cut out sugar from my diet as i am now diabetic, Which has helped) and did stop drinking fizzy spring water because it makes you eat more and was trying to diet, but it doesn't really make a any different to the IBS or fibo.
