Members connected over the frustrating experience of chronic one-sided sore throat pain that feels like strep but tests negative, with many sharing that their symptoms come and go or move around, lasting weeks to months at a time. Several members found relief through tonsil removal after years of recurring throat infections, while others mentioned trying zinc lozenges, dry brushing for lymphatic drainage, magnesium spray, and investigating swollen lymph nodes through CT scans and ENT visits. A recurring theme was the possible connection between Epstein-Barr virus, mono, and fibromyalgia, with many members recalling having had mono years before their fibro diagnosis and wondering if their current throat pain might be related.

I had mono at 16 and had horrible reoccuring symptoms including severe sore throat for years. I got my tonsils out in my mid 20s and it helped. Researchers are now saying that fibro may be caused from the Epstein Barr virus which is what causes mono. Look up the medical medium on fb and read the doctors info about this. Even if you were never diagnosed with mono, you still may have had it. Many people do not get diagnosed because they think it is just a common cold or virus. Very interesting to read.

I started doing dry brushing which is for the lymphatic system! I have been feeling better plus using magnesium spray! That lymph node pain has been better. They took all my right nodes under my right arm cause of breast cancer so I think my left side is overloaded! Hopefully that will help me!! Soft hugs to you!

I read somewhere that sore throats can be a common fibromyalgia symptom. @A MyFibroTeam Member I agree and if you can reverse the infection with garlic or herbal remedies etc. That seems worth a try, or getting a second opinion. 🌹❤🌹

My Hydrocodone don’t even take it away! Have Fibro and CFS! Diabetes and Fatty Liver! So upset about it all!!! I’m 68 but a young 68. My mind is 50!!! I want to have fun but we knows where that goes!!!!
