I have been taking Topiramate 200mg daily for a long time for Migraine prevention and since being diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, have been prescribed Gabapentin. My dosage is being increased monthly and at the moment i am taking 600mg per day. Does anyone else take both of these meds as i understand they are both anti-seizure drugs, If so, has anyone had any size effects from taking them both?
I am also taking Cymbalta.
I take 1200 gabapentin 3 times a day and I cant say I've noticed any side effects. I will say though I seem to be in more pain so I think I might have to be started on pregabalin instead of gabapentin xx
@A MyFibroTeam Member yes i was told that 200mg was the highest, i've been on that dose for years and there is no way the doctors will increase it. I would be careful too @A MyFibroTeam Member
@A MyFibroTeam Member make sure you get help getting off of gabapentin. It didn't work for me was on it for 3 months everyday 2 times a day I believe I was on 600 mg. I just stopped it caused they said it was not addictive but I went through really bad withdrawals. When I was on lyrica for a year my rheumatologist helped me wen off of that. Hugs and Prayers
Yes it is addictive. DR. Says it's not . But they have to keep upping the dose and you can not just stop taking it
