Rotator Cuff Tears!! !
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Starting in 2005, Right rotator cuff surgery twice as it retore after first surgery and left shoulder surgery once to decompress it. Pain in left arm now like torn rotator cuff and I’m not sure if I should ask my doctor for an MRI to confirm even though surgeon said he will never operate again on my shoulders cause they’re such a mess with scar tissue. Would I be wasting medical dollars to ease my mind?

I had a torn rotator cuff repaired and they actually had to cut to repair it because it was so bad, but nothing showed up on the mri. Two years later the other shoulder started to do the same thing. Of course you have to do physical therapy, them a mri and nothing showed. So I asked the doctor to go in a take a better look at it and he did. This doctor was different from my first one because we had moved. It just had a small tear and spurs and so I am so glad I insisted he do it. Any pain with me is always 10 times worse then the normal person. I am sure that is because of the fibro. But my shoulders are so much better. Wish the fibro was. A little at a time. Thanks for listening🙋😊

I would think that you should ask for the test. It might be something else but even if it is a torn rotator cuff, at least you would know and could try to adjust your life accordingly. We should always, always know what is wrong so that we can adapt to its changes and restrictions. Plus you will have medical proof should anyone question you. Gentle hugs
