Are Enlarged Fibroids Connected To Fm?
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

I was dx with enlarged fibroids a month after being dx with fm. Are they related in anyway? I was put on estrogen birth control and told to stay on it till I start menopause. Any ladies gone through this before or can tell me something cuz I can't find anything online about it.

Estrogen dominance can cause or contribute to fibroids. I would NOT use estrogen birth control. Risky. A bio- identical progesterone may help.

I was reading up on this just a few days ago. Fibroids aren't related to fibromyalgia, but we can have them. Up to 30% of all women have fibroids ranging in size from little and unobtrusive to large and needing some kind of surgical intervention. One of the fun parts of being female, like being 70% more likely to get fibromyalgia.

I’ve never had fibroids. I have however been on long-term estrogen replacement and I know that hormone balance plays a huge role in how my body handles Fibro. When I say hormone balance, I’m talking about more than just female hormones. My Dr monitors almost a dozen different hormones to keep me as functional as possible.
