Members overwhelmingly confirmed that bruising easily is a common experience with fibromyalgia, with many describing mysterious bruises appearing without memory of any injury and increased skin sensitivity that makes even gentle touch painful. Several members identified potential contributing factors, including medications like Lyrica, Cymbalta, and aspirin, as well as overlapping conditions such as Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, which can cause easy bruising, skin tearing, and hypermobile joints. A recurring theme was the frustration of not knowing how bruises occur, longer healing times, and the emotional toll of fearing touch or physical contact due to heightened pain sensitivity.

@A MyFibroTeam Member a geneticist can test for EDS. The only type of the 7 that does not have a test yet is hypermobility that I have. The poster link I posted above shows some of the common traits. If you google Ehlers Danlos I’m sure you will find a ton of info. More is known about it now than years back similar to fibro.

Some of these additional symptoms sound like Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. There are many types. In addition to Fibro, i have EDS Hypermobility which complicates things. Easy bruising, skin tearing, unstable joints, the list of symptoms is huge. Might be worth looking into. The link above is a poster with a lot of the common traits.

I have bruised easily for years long before the diagnosis and beginning Cymbalta. August 2017
That's why I think I have had this since about 19.
I wake up and I am bruised and no idea how or when it happened.
