I gained 40 lbs while on Lyrica. Lost it quickly as soon as I stopped taking it.

Yes, 10lbs in 8 days. Acted like a steroid in my body.

I took Lyrica and OMG...that stuff made me feel CRAZY ! It made my legs swell to the point I could hardly bend my knees. My legs looked like tree trunks ! They were HUGE !!! I gained weight almost instantly. I had a horrible experience with Lyrica .
Cymbalta worked well for me but only for a couple of years.
If you do try any of the so called Fibro drugs make sure you research the side affects and monitor your body for changes.

I spent $500 on groceries on that stuff and I told the doctor I would rather have the pain than eat like a pig because of that medication. I am having enough trouble losing the weight as it is.

I have thought about this long and hard. I've taken Lyrica for perhaps 12 years. I can't honestly say I gained weight from it. I had a lot of thyroid problems during this time and my weight fluctuated. I had my thyroid removed in 2013. When I want to lose weight I am able to. Lyrica did help lessen the number of flares I was having. I still get them but not as often, but I have learned other things to lessen the frequency further. Weight gain is a side effect that will affect some but not all people.
