Members overwhelmingly confirmed significant weight gain on Lyrica, Cymbalta, and Amitriptyline, with many reporting 30 to 50 pounds gained despite healthy eating and regular exercise, and frustration that the weight remains stubbornly resistant to traditional diet and fitness efforts. Several members shared practical insights, including one doctor's explanation that Lyrica can cause fluid retention requiring water pills, another member's discovery that Cymbalta triggered constant hunger that resolved after stopping the medication, and suggestions to check thyroid function as a possible contributing factor. A recurring theme was the difficult choice between managing pain effectively and dealing with unwanted weight gain, with members encouraging each other to weigh the benefits against side effects and offering solidarity in a frustrating situation many thought they were facing alone.

30 pounds with Cymbalta. I walk and/or swim 5 days a week, eat really healthy, but this weight doesn't budge.

Yes. I gained 40 lbs. In 2 months without a change in eating. Never lost it. 😣

Well it sounds like you are right where I am... We both have weigh the benefits against the side effects. The meds have just began working for me....so with water pill in tote I will stay on them as long as I can.. Gaining weight stinks but mine is a lot of water. As long as I take these meds I may continue gain weight. Just take a long look at what the meds do and don't do.
Good Luck🍀

Since on these meds all i can do is maintain...I cannot lose weight. I have gone to 2 nutritionists and have joined 2 weight reduction clubs but hardly any loss. It is very upsetting. Should I continue to try or am I wasting my time, money and emotional energy?
