Members shared pain relief strategies for managing fibromyalgia pain affecting the hips, legs, lower back, and feet, with many recommending prescription medications like tramadol, flexeril muscle relaxers, and gabapentin, while cautioning to start with less strong options before moving to opioids like oxycodone. Several members offered non-medication approaches that have helped them, including epsom salt baths, heating pads, TENS units, hemp seed oil salve, and Double Spectrum Melatonin at bedtime for pain and sleep support. A recurring theme was the importance of advocating for yourself with your specialist to find the right combination of treatments, as what works varies greatly from person to person, and many emphasized patience and persistence in finding relief.

Dr. tietelbaum, who also has fibro, recommends Double Spectrum Melatonin at bedtime. It has been a lifesaver for me. I use the 5mg but it comes in stronger dosages. It is manufactured in the human body but lessens as we age.

Tramadol works well. It does require a script.

Mega doses of Ibuprofen help when I flare. 800 mg every 6 hours.

I have recently foind relief using a tens unit. I prefer to try to find as many non-mediction ways to find relief. I am a nurse so i am unable to take many pain medication.

No i haven't tried any of those yet. I'm on meds for internal tremors and restless legs same meds. And a antidepressant not for depression help make me sleep also meant to help for pain which it hasn't helped taken only at night. Hopefully they'll sort out my meds, if I'm not happy with any attitude I'll find another specialist that will.
