It comes and goes. Sometimes Feels like it's swollen on one side or in front. Maybe hard to swallow.... thyroid? Can that mimic fibro symptoms as well?

Members responded to concerns about throat pressure and swelling by strongly encouraging a thyroid evaluation, with several sharing their own experiences of hypothyroidism causing similar symptoms like difficulty swallowing, neck puffiness, and extreme fatigue. Many community members described practical next steps, including seeing an endocrinologist, requesting ultrasounds or MRIs to check lymph nodes and thyroid function, and exploring whether medication adjustments might help if thyroid levels remain problematic. A recurring theme was that while fibro can cause neck muscle pain, persistent throat swelling warrants medical investigation, and members also noted that acid reflux conditions like GERD can mimic throat symptoms when certain trigger foods are consumed.

@A MyFibroTeam Member thanks Every doc suggest a ct scan but i think I would rather start with an MRI and ultrasound on the lympnodes first with less radiation exposure. 😬 Keep us informed on how your specialist appt turns out please.

Sorry not been on for a while I have a lump just to the side of my thyroid it is benign but still causes me to choke sometimes but while I work I get really tired all the time. When I am off work I still do get tired but not as much. Hope everyone is having a relatively pain free day x
