What Positive Alternatives Do You Regularly Rely On Apart From Or Instead Of Pain Meds That Help To & Hopefully Improve Your Quality Of Life
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

I want to see how many find that prescribed pain meds is not the only or total way expected to help. Does diet, holistic approach, exercise, chiro, massages, acupuncture, work, pets, positive mind, positive goals, supportive family & friends etc help to make a difference to you!!

The things that have helped me over the years is..... Healing Touch Therapy (So amazing and relaxing to have done). @Acupuncture, Massage, Aquatic excercise, Magnesium, Warm baths with salts, heated blanket relieves pain, talking to someone about it, crying releases a huge amount of pain and laughing gives me Energy. The other thing that helps a huge amount is learning to calm your own anxieties, self talk, recognise when you are stressed so you can deal with it and reduce it, don't feel guilt for resting either as that will totally ruin you.
The hugest thing is to get a good nights sleep .... give yourself a decent amount of time to wind down so you sleep properly and also have the odd nights sleeping alone so you aren't disturbed in the night by your partner. I hope this is helpful to others.

For me, getting back on a spiritual path was the biggest help to me since it changed my attitude to a more positive one. For me, spirituality is love for God, compassion towards others, inclusiveness, humility, service, letting go of resentment, and trying to be a good person while realizing I'm.not perfect.

Other things that have helped have been cutting out sugar, red meat, and eating as clean.as possible. I supplement with vitamins, and use Curamed (a circumin essential oil capsule that's very potent), and take very good care of my oral health since gum.disease can really meds up your body. And I try to sleep a full 8 hrs when I can. ❤

I find swimming helps as it is non weight bearing and you dont have to power through lenght and lengths. Walking in water and even exercising in water and gentle swimming. Chiropracter also helps. And talking :)
