I'm now at 200mg of Lyrica a day, It doesn't help a lot. I've gained 21 lbs in 3.5 months on it.

Members shared mixed experiences with Lyrica for fibromyalgia and neuropathy pain, with dosages ranging from 150mg to 500mg daily and results varying from significant relief to no noticeable benefit. The overwhelming consensus was that weight gain is a major side effect, with members reporting gains between 5 to 50 pounds, prompting some to discontinue the medication despite any pain relief. Several members discussed practical strategies including trying alternative medications like Gabapentin or Cymbalta, exploring weight loss drugs like Contrave, and weighing whether continued use is worth the risk of developing diabetes or heart disease from the extra pounds.

I tried Lyrica. Went off of it after 2 months due to a water retention effect. It didn't seen to be doing any thing for me anyway, but I tried.

If it doesn’t work then I would see the doctor about getting off it. I have had to try many medications over the years and most have not worked, and a few have. A lot of trial and error. You know what works and what doesn’t and don’t let anyone convince you otherwise.

I take it and it helps with the nerve pain on me. I know it if I don't take it. Unfortunately yes loads of weight gain these past years being on it. My Dr had me on that and cymbalta for years but switched the cymbalta out for a different depression med that seems to work better now.

@A MyFibroTeam Member I have taken Lyrica for a number of years. I take 150mg twice daily. Yes the side affects are bad, such as weight gain, jerking and blurry eyes. It is the only medication that gets me out of bed in the morning so I don't see any other choice. Hugs
