Members shared which specialists diagnosed their fibromyalgia, with rheumatologists being the most commonly mentioned, followed by neurologists, general practitioners, and pain management doctors. Several members described a diagnostic journey that involved ruling out other conditions like MS, spinal osteoarthritis, or autoimmune disorders before receiving a fibromyalgia diagnosis, often confirmed by a second specialist. A recurring theme was the unexpected nature of the diagnosis, with some members not anticipating fibromyalgia at all until their doctor performed the tender point test or conducted a full body assessment.

First, a neurologist who diagnosed me with the 18 tender point test. Then twice more, the last was a naturopathic MD who had an ego the size of Texas. No offense, Texans, but you are the biggest.
