Has anyone tried massage to ease pain? I am going Sat to a massage therapist who deals with a lot of fibro patients as well as those with other chronic pain issues.

Members overwhelmingly supported trying massage therapy for fibromyalgia pain relief, with most sharing that regular sessions have been genuinely helpful for managing muscle tightness, releasing fascia, improving circulation, and providing both physical and mental health benefits. Several members emphasized important precautions, including starting with gentle rather than deep tissue work, communicating clearly with the therapist about pain levels and fibromyalgia-specific needs, and taking warm Epsom salt baths afterward to ease soreness from released toxins and muscle knots. A recurring theme was that massage experiences vary from person to person and session to session, with some finding immediate relief while others experience temporary soreness before feeling better, but the consistent message was that it's worth trying with a therapist experienced in chronic pain conditions.

I've probably had about a thousand massages. Most of the time they are very painful because everything is soooo tight. I feel really sore the next day, then better for a week or so. One thing that helps is to take a very warm bath with epsom salts the night after you have the massage. Epson salts have magnesium, which is a natural muscle relaxant.

I go to a massage therapist ever two weeks. I look so forward to the deep tissue massage but especially the heat! She turn up the table so it's toasty, and will use hot packs and hot stones. She works on my back, shoulders and arms. It hurts somewhat but so worth it. She keeps my muscles loose, and releases fascia to help with tightness and pain. I've been going 3+ years...

I also see a massage therapist every few months. She does deep tissue work on my back, shoulders, neck, and head. It has helped immensely!

Massage can help some people but i had a full body massage years ago and was in bed sick for 4 days after. I had so many knots in my body that released toxins into my system when i had the massage. So for your first time getting one, it might be a good idea to only get one or two areas done. I hope you feel better and i hope the massage helps. Hugs

I get regular massages to breakdown the knots that build up in the muscles of my neck, shoulders and back. It brings so much relief!
