Has anyone in Pennsylvania gotten Social security ? Is it true to go right on medicare no matter what your age is ? And does it cover your medication?

I am wondering about getting on medicare if i go out on disability in Florida even though i may have enough years in to retire if I make that . Having Fibro and the cost of all the medical and not having insurance.

@A MyFibroTeam Member I'm new to this page. My symptoms seem a lot like yours. These days the worst are my hips, knees, lower back and tailbone. The less but still painful is my neck and left shoulder. Thanks for the NY well wishes! Wishing you a pain free NY's as well.

Social security is federal. I live in fl and have been on ssi for 16 years. I did not have enough work credits to get ssd. I am on medicaid because of this. Everyone that I know that got ssd, they also got medicare no matter their age. I am not sure if it covers prescriptions 100 percent but i believe you will get pres insurance. Maybe a co pay. I hope this helps. Good luck.
